Each month the Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay puts on a women’s only ride called Ride Like a Girl. The emphasis of these rides are to have fun and to meet other women who love to ride. The rides are geared towards all levels of riders, lead by experienced leaders and are split into groups based on skill level. This month it was held at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, California. Although the park is a relatively small area, it’s laid out in a way that allows a number of different loops. This was the first RLaG ride this year (we were rained out in January) with a total of 30 women in attendance.
The weather was great, and as usual, the club provided snacks post-ride. It’s a great way to get out and meet new people, and ride with some new folks. Check it out at BTCEB.org
